At the end of the day, ---------------------------------- Let’s start with the last bili banja we did as a whole squad during pop.. before starting it.. i was saying sth.. and everyone look up at me n was carefully listening to wad i was trying to say.. even so it was jus a few second.. but it was that very moment.. that picture caught in my mind, of the familiar faces cuddling in a circle listening to me.. it jus bring me back to a thousand similar pictures.. to the time when we sit tgt in sec2 for squad talk.. to the time when i was explaining wad was pass down to be done. To the time when we was on the stage for POP'08 to the time when we sit tgt inside the store to talk things out.. well.. is an undeniable fact that my life as a unit provost won't be as delirious if it was without them.. POP marked the end of our NPCC career… but etched forever in my memory are the times of tears of joy when we won games, competitions, getting promoted, and when we complete sth together, tears of sadness when we erred and lost, but MOST of all, just by being part of the AWESOME SQUAD! my squadmates have inspired me with their passion to the unit, willingness to try even despite seemingly insurmountable odds. Their success, my success, their happiness, my happiness, their tears, my tears, for we are ONE SQUAD! without them i would not have what i have become today. My most humble thanks! This blog is sooo almost dead. I've got to post something. Things have changed so much. So many reasons and excuses behind it. I don't want to listen a song about it! Can we like hang out sometime maybe take the opportunity of this June holiday?? Just a day out of the 30 days. Please, we need some serious talking. Maybe story-telling about, how a group of about 30 people came together as cadets, squad mates but in the end 17 still stood up for one another through every obstacles that they met. And how their VICTORY day(POP for those who don't get it) was about to come. People!!! As some of you guys might have said it before. We have been together for more that 3 years and we have about 30 days left to rejoice. Lets make a good use of it. And as i'm writing i'm suffering from a very bad leg cramp!!! Thats all. 1. SSGT Promotion Test With regards to the upcoming Staff Sergeant Promotion Test for all of you, the date that is set for the promotion test have yet to be fixed but it will most probably be conducted on a friday as some of you raised up the issue that you are not able to attend the test if its conducted on a saturday. Thus, the date of the test is still under discussion and it will most probably be on the 2nd week of April. The finalised date will be made known to you once it has been decided. And at the same time, the following would be a rough guide on the upcoming Staff Sergeant Promotion Test, but do take note that the format for the test being conducted will not be exactly the same as stated in this rough guide. Staff Sergeant Attendance – 15% Normal performance – 30% Drill – 15% Practical Session 1 – 10% Practical Session 2 – 10% Theory Test – 20% Rough Guide on what will be tested: Drills: Attention, Stand at Ease, Dressing, Pledge Taking, Turning & Inclining, Sizing, Saluting, Pacing, Open & Close Order, Marching, Mark Time, Wheeling, Changing Steps, Saluting on the March, Eyes Right, Baton Drills, Arms Drills, Advanced Drills, All other Drills Campcraft: Thumb Knot, Figure-of-Eight, Reef Knot, Fisherman's Knot, Sheepshank, Bow Fireman's Chair, Clove Hitch, Round Lashing, Square Lashing, Gyn Lashing, Shear Lashing, Diagonal Lashing, Five Knots in one minute, Orienteering, Pioneering Therefore, do refer to the rough guide above on the promotion format of the Staff Sergeant Test and prepare yourself accordingly in preparation for the upcoming Staff Sergeant test. Although its a rough guide and the actual promotion format will not be exactly the same as stated above, do make use of the guide to prepare yourself as it would be a good reference and at the same time, if you do follow the guide above, you should be able to pass the promotion test. 2. NCO Farewell With regards to the NCO Farewell 2009, your passing out day, we do know that all of you are excited about it. No matter its regarding the preparation of the cadets or the preparation of the event itself. Thus, for your information, the preparation dates for the cadets are as follows: March: 30th April: 2nd, 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th, 29th 3. Any Other Business Lastly, if you do have any questions or doubts which you want to clarify, do direct it to bowennpcc@gmail.com.
